Meet our team
Marcos is a political strategist and national leader of the Puerto Rican Diaspora. Marcos has worked in Chicago, Washington, D.C. and several cities in Florida as well as in Puerto Rico, where he has designed and implemented innovative and groundbreaking programs and campaigns in government, labor and non-profit settings. He has worked on civic engagement campaigns in Florida since 2002, focusing on the Puerto Rican and Hispanic communities.
Inma migrated to the US from Spain in 1996 to pursue a career in early child development and education. She has worked as an educator and leader for more than 20 years and now puts her skills and knowledge to work at Alianza by ensuring our office runs at its maximum potential.
Rev. Jose Rodriguez
Rev. Jose Rodriguez, based in Central Florida, leads the Episcopal Churches of Christ the King and Jesus de Nazaret in Azalea Park. His ministry, marked by a profound commitment to community service, has been especially focused on disaster relief and recovery over the past five years. His efforts intensified following Hurricane Irma, equipping him to support those affected by Hurricane Maria. Under his guidance, the church has actively addressed the needs of new neighbors displaced by Maria.
Padre José's impactful work earned him the title of 2019 Change Maker of the Year by the Heart of Florida United Way. In 2020, he was recognized as a Distinguished Leader in Florida on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives. Engaged in various academic collaborations with the University of Florida, the University of Texas at Austin, Boston College, and the University of Miami, Padre José is also a graduate of Rollins College, the University of Central Florida, and Asbury Theological Seminary.
Frank Oscar Weaver is the Climate and Clean Energy Manager for Orlando. He has a mission to create a more sustainable future. His expertise in audiovisual documentation, sustainability, environmental advocacy, leadership, and mentorship makes him an invaluable asset to our team. Frank's exceptional mobilizing skills make him a dynamic leader who has dedicated his life to preserving the planet. His dedication to environmental sustainability is an inspiration to us all, and his contributions to the cause will undoubtedly have a lasting impact on the world. Karol Landaeta was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. In 2015, she emigrated to the United States due to political persecution in Venezuela. She is a mother, grandmother, and entrepreneur of her business Kukenan Organic Design. She has worked on political campaigns as an organizer for different organizations in Central Florida, focused on educating the Latino community on the importance of voting. She now puts her event planning expertise to great use as Alianza’s event coordinator.
Johanna was born in Colombia. She graduated from the University of Ibague, as an accountant. She has worked for 8 years in Central Florida at different organizations supporting elections campaigns. In Alianza, she uses her experience and knowledge as a climate & clean energy regional coordinator. She is passionate about political issues, environmental topics, voter education, and human rights.
Diana Joaquín was born and raised in the Dominican Republic. In 2015, she moved to the United States with many dreams and the hope of growing up in this country. In 2017, she had the opportunity to work and learn more about the needs of her community and was inspired to attend college and learn more about communications and the issues that affect her community. She is a UCF student majoring in Human Communications. Since 2018, she has been working in local, state, and national political campaigns focused on educating the Latino community on the importance of voting. Her work with elected officials allowed her to better understand and engage with her community. She serves Alianza as the communications coordinator.
Graduated from the International Coaching Institute of Puerto Rico, Jerry has a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Education in the Teaching of Fine Arts with a speciality in theater. With 20 years of experience in pedagogy, Jerry collaborated in the development of Curricula for Specialized Schools in Theater Arts and Cinematography in Puerto Rico and for the Puerto Rico Department of Education. At Alianza, Jerry uses his talent and creativity to integrate arts and culture into all of our work.
Javier Figueroa was born in San Juan PR, and he grew up in Vega Baja, Manatí. When he was young his mother decided to move to New Jersey and raise her two children, his older brother and him. After leaving a few years in New Jersey he returned to Puerto Rico where he finished his studies and graduated from college with a bachelor's degree in preschool and elementary education. He was a teacher for a few years until he got sick. Currently, Javier lives in Apopka FL, and works for the Alianza Center Organization.
Henry Mendoza is a community leader who has always worked to impact his community positively. He was born and raised in Colombia. Through his training in industrial engineering and his passion for media and photography, he has combined technical skills with artistic expression to communicate meaningful messages. His ability to capture images and create content suggests he is an effective communicator. He uses photography and the media to convey essential and meaningful messages to his community. This combination of technical and creative skills allows you to communicate effectively and reach a larger audience.
His experience in digital media and his focus on innovative strategies indicate that he is willing to explore new ways to address community challenges. This innovative mindset can lead to fresh and creative solutions that make a difference in your community. He is using all his knowledge in Aliaza by creating video and photo content for social media.
Oriana was born and raised in Venezuela and is currently studying Journalism at Valencia College. She serves as the creative arm of Alianza, transforming our mission and message into artistic reality. Since she was young, her passion has been communications, marketing and social media. Oriana considers herself a creative dreamer, and we agree.
Sergio was born in Puerto Rico and moved to Orlando when he was six years old, living with four generations under a single roof. He is currently studying at the University of Central Florida for a Bachelor's in Public Administration while working on campaigns and for legislative offices and continues to serve as a community organizer across Central Florida. He serves as the Lead Organizer for Alianza 21 to expand opportunities and engagement across our communities and build a brighter future for all in Florida.
