Meet our team
Marcos is a political strategist and national leader of the Puerto Rican Diaspora. Marcos has worked in Chicago, Washington, D.C. and several cities in Florida as well as in Puerto Rico, where he has designed and implemented innovative and successful programs and campaigns in government, labor and non-profit settings. He has worked on civic engagement campaigns in Florida since 2011, focusing on the Puerto Rican and Hispanic community.
Johanna Lopez served as an Advanced Placement Spanish Teacher at Colonial High for 19 years and earned the distinction of being the 2017 OCPS Teacher of the Year. Most recently, she was chosen as 2021 Elected Official of the Year by the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Florida Central Unit. Johanna currently serves as Orange County School Board member, representing District 2. She is a mother, an educator and a leader with a reputation of relentless determination when it comes to the advancement of her students and community.
Cristina graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Public Relations. She has a strong passion for problem-solving, communications and business development. She is an activist and a writer who uses her voice to engage and empower her community.
Zulma Velez Estrada
Zulma has been a leader in Orange and Osceola County political and civic organizations for the past 28 years and is our Senior Advisor. She brings proven international marketing experience and has been an advocate for the Latino communities on civic engagement in Central Florida in addition to have managed a statewide Non Partisan Voting Education Program. In her native Puerto Rico she was a Consultant for the University of Puerto Rico and worked in the pharmaceutical industry.
Jeamy has been a leader in civic engagement for more than 8 years. She builds political power and empowers her community through topics such as voting rights, education, immigration and health. Jeamy enjoys making a difference and educating those around her.
Jackie was born in New Jersey and raised between New Jersey and Puerto Rico. She is a mother of 4 with extensive experience in hospitality management and administration. Jackie is passionate about her family, her boricua roots and her professional development.
Inma migrated to the US from Spain in 1996 to pursue a career in early child development and education. She has worked as an educator and leader for more than 20 years and now puts her skills and knowledge to work at Alianza by ensuring our office runs at its maximum potential.
Eli is a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico with a degree in Humanities. A native of Bayamón, Puerto Rico, he came to Central Florida after Hurricane Maria. He is a graphic designer and media specialist who uses his talent to engage and lift up the Puerto Rican community.
